The objective of the project is to develop and demonstrate innovative solutions to improve the energy efficiency of cultural heritage buildings by integrating solar energy technologies, digital tools and sustainable building materials, while preserving their cultural, historical and architectural value. The project aims to support the transformation of cultural heritage buildings from passive energy consumers into active renewable energy producers.
- develop coloured BIPV (Building-Integrated Photovoltaics) technologies for cultural heritage buildings;
- integrate micro heat pumps and energy storage solutions;
- use bio-based thermal insulation materials;
- develop BIM and digital twin solutions;
- conduct a life cycle assessment (LCA) of the project;
- demonstrate the solutions in four European countries;
- develop recommendations for improving the regulatory framework.
- The project implements the principles of the New European Bauhaus by combining sustainability, aesthetics and community engagement in the renovation of cultural heritage buildings.
- BIPV solutions for cultural heritage buildings will be validated;
- digital twins of the demonstration buildings will be developed;
- a catalogue of technological solutions will be prepared;
- a methodology for project life cycle assessment will be developed;
- recommendations for improving the regulatory framework will be prepared;
- guidelines for the sustainable renovation of cultural heritage buildings will be developed;

- analyse the potential for using renewable energy technologies in Latvia’s cultural heritage buildings;
- assess regulatory, technological and socio-economic barriers to the implementation of BIPV solutions in cultural heritage buildings;
- contribute to the development of innovative technical solutions;
- develop a digital twin of the demonstration building;
- implement BIPV demonstration activities at the University of Latvia’s main building at 19 Raiņa Boulevard, Riga;
- contribute to the assessment of the impact of the solutions and the development of guidelines.
