Library of Natural Sciences where books never sleep

The library and the reading room are located on the ground floor of the building

  • Study workplaces for individual and group work of students

Working hours of the librarian-consultant at the Library of Natural Sciences:

  • Mondays - Fridays from 10:00 to 18:00
  • Saturdays from 9:00 to 17:00
  • During the rest of the time the library is available in self-service mode taking into account the working hours of the House of Nature. For the students of the University of Latvia presenting the student card library is available 24 hours a day, for others presenting a personal identification document from 8:00 to 22:00.

The library is located on the 1st floor.

The books in our library never sleep – the library is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. It offers an opportunity to work with planned or delayed or extensive study works here all night long. 26 000 copies of the most demanded and up-to-date editions in the nature sciences and exact sciences as well as over 170 000 e-resources are available. Books can be taken home, passed or extended at any time using a self-service device.

There are 3 stationary computers available for working with the Library's catalogue and 20 portable computers that can be obtained at the librarian-consultant for the work in library. Work tables are equipped with adjustable lighting and electrical contacts. In the library you will also be able to print and copy as well as scan in accordance with the price list of the library's services. The full range of library fees and services is available here.

There is a specially designed reading room with high working desks in the middle floor, as well as available reference literature and information resources for various sectors of social sciences.

Readers' workplaces are also designed for comfortable resting moments.
